A Treaty

We read the book 'The Tree Hut Treaty', in preparation for 'Waitangi Day’. Students then discussed our own class treaty and created their hand-print to sign it.

Our Class Treaty

We read the book 'The Tree Hut Treaty', in preparation for 'Waitangi Day'. Afterwards, students discussed:

- how the children in the book solved their issues with the use of the tree-hut

- behaviour that will provide a great environment for everyone

They then created their own class treaty...

Mihi

Room 4 students have been working hard to learn their mihi. They managed themselves well and persevered with learning their mihi. They were able to present their mihi to the class with confidence. They also spoke clearly and pronounced all the words correctly.  I am so proud of them! 🏆

A hero

One of our Year 1 students found a 'hero' in Matua James and follows him everywhere... even out on duty!

Our special things

Thank you to these two students, who took initiative by sharing information about themselves and what are special to them with our class. It was great to see how you took an interest in your learning, which linked to our Inquiry and 'Life Education' learning. Well done!

More about ourselves

To learn more about each other, students used a website to create an image of themselves and added their information. They added their voice and uploaded their work to their individual ePortfolios.

Getting to know each other

What a great start to our new school year. Welcome back to all the lovely, smiling faces in Room 4!

The students started with getting to know each other today and made some posters to introduce themselves. Our senior buddies came to help and wrote down their age, something about their family, pet, favourite color, what they like to eat and what they would like to be when they are older.
