A great finish with the last chat for this term. Room 4 enjoyed participating and working with the Room 3 students. It was lovely to see our tuakana/teina working collaboratively.

Maths Problem: 'You be the teacher'

Today the students were told that they were going to be the teacher. They had to make up some maths problems. There was only one restriction. That was, the answer had to be the one they were given. The problems that they made up could be anything they liked.

They had to:
- Work on the problem together and create as many possibilities they could
- Use their mathematical knowledge to invent basic addition problems

Kapa Haka at the Cultural Festival

The junior students used the virtues of 'Excellence' and 'Courage' when performing their waiata at our yearly Cultural Festival. Well done to you all, you made us proud!

Digital Citizenship / Cyber Safety #5

This week we worked on ‘An important thing to remember’. Using the worksheet from 'Heroes' on Hector's World, students learnt to avoid the mistake that Hector and his friends made, of giving out their personal information online.

They learnt to:
1. Ask a trusted adult before doing anything online
2. Always get help from a trusted adult if anything worries them online

Learning Centre time - it is part of our school culture

Our Learning Centre is such a great place for our students, as it is a central point for engagement with all kinds of reading and cultural activities! Our class enjoys their time finding books, looking at them, reading to each other and sharing information they find.

'Matariki' with KidsedchatNZ
