Exploring shapes

Room 4 have stared to explore shapes.

They all got together and told what they already know about shapes.  They created this poster:

Then they used the notebooks and the IWB to explore some features about shapes.

They've also created their own pictures, using different shapes and talked about what they've made, using Fotobabble.

Well done for displaying your wonderful creativity, Room 4! You've made me proud!

Anzac Art

We made some Anzac Art. The poppies is to remember the soldiers that died.

Making ANZAC Biscuits

On Friday, we made ANZAC Biscuits.  We buddied up with our senior buddy class and Leanne, one of the parents came to help us.

Before we started, we all washed our hands! As Reed was reading the recipe, Leanne held up the ingredients so that we could see what it looks like.

We mixed the ingredients together and put our biscuits that we rolled on a baking tray.  While we waited for them to cook, we made a box that we could put them in.  We also read and decorated some poems with our buddies.

Our biscuits were yum!

Inquiry: Change and Communities

Room 4 has been learning about 'Change and Communities' Students explored past events and experiences and they've learned to make connections between what our school is like and predict what our community maybe like in the future.

What they knew before they've started their Inquiries:

Students discussed and shared ideas about changing what they wear, how their body changes as they grow and we had a quick discussion about what we eat and drink at different ages.

One of the many stories we read was 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' and students explored becoming different characters and how they change the way they act and talk when playing a character.

Two seniors from our buddy class also came to 'interview' them to find out what they know:

Room 4 learned that people live in communities, that our school is a community and that communities grow and change over time.
