How to....

Rooms 3 (Y5 /6), 4 (Y1) and 5 (Y2) came together to make iStopMotion animations showing others how to learn something with their buddy.

The Big Idea was to show our buddies how to use iStopMotion.

Learning Steps:
1. Spend 5 - 10 minutes to plan your idea. (Have a back up plan in case the first does not work or you have extra time)
2. Check in with a teacher to see if your plan is practical, possible and positive
3. Start creating your animation.
4. Publish your work on your blog
5. Be ready to share

Production: 'Little Red Rocking Hood'

The teachers from Rooms 3, 4 and 5 worked collaboratively and made some adaptions to the 'Rock Opera: Little Red Rocking Hood' written by Jeffrey Leask as part of our school production this term. Throughout the practices the students had to use the virtues of Resilience, Co-operation, Confidence, Creativity and Enthusiasm whilst working towards Excellence.

Congratulations to all the students for stunning performances! You made us proud!

A buddy reads to us

We really like our buddy reading time with Room 3. Today we got an extra surprise when one of our buddies came over and said he will read to us and it was not even buddy reading time! He read the book to us with expression and we would like to read like him one day.

Birds...

Mr Taylor read the story 'Pukeko' to Room 4. They then discussed different kinds of birds.

Afterwards students drew a picture of their favourite bird and talked about what they did.

Let's Paint

Our students continued their painting experiences / learning from earlier in the term with our Art Teacher, Whaea Jude.
They used paint, brushes, cotton buds and finger tips to practise creating line and dot art.

They then applied these skills to create original art works on wooden panels to beautify our school environment.

Find it...

We did a mathematics activity as part of the Measurement 'Position and Orientation' strand where students hid a picture and then had to give instructions to their buddy to find it using words like under, over, between...
