Honey Combs Art

Our students made honey combs (the background) using bubble wrap, yellow paint and rollers. They then did finger painting and used black vivid to create a colony of bees.

Inquiry #2 - Global World: Do we need Bees? (Finding out)

We are up to the 'Finding Out' stage of our inquiry.  We can FIND OUT information by asking experts, reading books/articles, looking on the internet....

But we were lucky to have an expert from Arataki Honey come into our class and share his knowledge, photos and answer our wonderings (questions we had). He even gave us a pot of honey!

These three boys had finished publishing their wondering so they had a few minutes of free choosing while the others finished their work.

They got the building blocks and began making something. They then told me they were making a ‘Honey Store’. How cool is that!!
